A new Kirby game titled “Kirby and the World Beyond” was announced during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. The game is slated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
In the trailer, Kirby’s iconic Sword Copy ability is featured, allowing him to dash around wielding the Master Sword to ascend quickly. Notably, King Dedede appears as a boss character, marked by a striking scene where Kirby knocks him through a horizon wall reminiscent of the Truman Show.
The trailer highlights an enhanced Sword Copy ability in its latter half, enabling Kirby to cut down trees and create new pathways. One segment showcases Kirby breaking out into an environment that appears heavily inspired by the Hyrule setting. Details about what awaits Kirby in this new world are still under wraps.
