Marvel’s Wolverine Patch 1.001.006 Introduces Scent Trail Toggle and Bug Fixes
- Patch 1.001.006 adds options to disable scent trails for collectibles.
- Insomniac Games retains senses for “story-critical” moments.
- Several player-reported crashes and bugs have been fixed.
Marvel’s Wolverine has received an update with version 1.001.006, which includes a feature to disable scent trails associated with Whiskey Bottle collectibles, Material Crate audio cues, and Nightmare Door roots. Players can access these settings through three separate toggles in the Gameplay menu.
Insomniac Games stated that sensory cues will still be active for “story-critical” moments as noted in the patch notes, which will help alleviate some of the frustrations surrounding their presence.
The introduction of bright blue trails aimed to assist players in reaching mission objectives and finding collectibles. However, this feature faced backlash, with many players questioning its necessity, given the linear design of the game’s levels.
Prior to the game’s release, players expressed a desire for an option to turn off scent trails. Following an initial hotfix that reduced their visibility, this patch fulfills the developer’s commitment to offer a complete toggle option.
Additionally, patch 1.001.006 resolves multiple crashes reported by players and addresses scenarios where players could become stuck in the game. The update also corrects an overlapping bathroom sign in the casino level, which led to allegations of generative AI usage online.
