Nick Reiner Charged with Parents’ Murder Following Grand Jury Indictment
In a shocking turn of events, newly unsealed court documents reveal that Nick Reiner has been charged with the murder of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, at their Brentwood, California, home. The indictment, released on August 12, 2023, alleges that the 32-year-old son intentionally killed his parents on December 14, 2022, by means of “lying in wait.”
Legal experts define “lying in wait” as a calculated tactic where an individual conceals themselves to ambush a victim with the intent to cause death. This premeditated approach indicates a significant level of malice and intent, according to the Eisner Gorin legal defense firm.
The indictment further specifies that Nick Reiner “personally used a deadly or dangerous weapon,” namely a knife, to perform the alleged crime. This alarming allegation adds a grim layer to the incident.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman emphasized the emotional ramifications of the case, stating in a press release on August 12, “This was a profound betrayal by someone who was loved and trusted by the very people he is accused of killing.”
