Netflix has unleashed the high-anticipated final trailer for The Ribbon Hero, Twin Engine’s striking new anime film inspired by Osamu Tezuka’s classic Princess Knight manga. Premiering exclusively worldwide on Netflix on August 8, the new preview highlights the upcoming English dub alongside a Japanese trailer that introduces five fresh cast members—including NIJISANJI VTubers Mito Tsukino, Lunlun, and Debidebi Debiru making their feature-length anime debuts as Sapphire’s mining site coworkers. Directed by Yuuki Igarashi at his new studio OUTLINE, the movie follows displaced royal Sapphire as she takes up her sword once more to face the apocalyptic calamity “Nergal.”

Based on Osamu Tezuka’s foundational 1958 Princess Knight manga, The Ribbon Hero brings together top-tier industry talent for a fresh cinematic vision. The film features character designs by Kei Mochizuki with cooperation from Mai Yoneyama, animation character designs by Issei Arakaki, artistic direction by Cédric Hérole, and a sweeping musical score composed by MONACA’s Satoru Kōsaki and Ryūichi Takada. Additionally, the Japanese/Korean group Girls Archives. performs the official theme song “Reborn,” setting the stage for Sapphire’s epic battle to defy her fate.
