Several companies made significant moves in midday trading with varying impacts on their stock values. In a contrasting development, Liquidia’s stock plummeted approximately 25% after the U.S. District Court in Delaware ruled that the company infringed on a patent held by United Therapeutics. The court also dismissed Liquidia’s motion regarding United’s challenge related to another patent’s prior art status. Meanwhile, United Therapeutics shares climbed 15% in response to the ruling.
Jabil, the electronics manufacturer, fell over 7% despite reporting fiscal fourth-quarter results that exceeded analysts’ expectations. The company posted earnings of $4.40 per share on an adjusted basis and a revenue of $10.62 billion, while analysts had forecasted a profit of $4.07 per share and revenue of $9.71 billion. Both first-quarter and full-year earnings guidance also surpassed estimates.
Concentrix saw its stock rise 5% after reporting adjusted earnings in its fiscal third quarter above expectations. However, guidance for non-GAAP earnings per share and revenue for the upcoming quarter was below analysts’ projections. The company indicated during its earnings call that its transition towards AI is exerting pressure on revenues.
Moderna shares declined 7% after Citi downgraded the stock to “sell,” with analysts at the bank establishing a price target 60% lower than the stock’s closing price from Tuesday, indicating that the current valuation is unjustifiable.
