Capcom Retires Edit Vouchers for Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom announced today that it will retire the controversial Edit Vouchers for Monster Hunter Wilds. Starting December 3, these vouchers will be removed from all digital storefronts, and players will receive 10 Character Edit Vouchers and 10 Palico Edit Vouchers at no cost.
This change precedes the release of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, scheduled for next year, which will allow all players to re-edit their characters without needing a Character Edit Voucher. This means players can modify their hunters and Palicos as often as they wish, even if they do not intend to purchase the Ascendance expansion.
For players who previously spent real money on Edit Vouchers, no refunds will be issued. However, Capcom is offering a Special Thank-You Pendant Set, which consists of the Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar pendants, available starting December 3. According to Capcom, “the pendants listed above may become available separately at a later date.”
Since its launch, Monster Hunter Wilds has faced challenges, particularly regarding its PC performance, leading to decreased player engagement over the past year. The game has consistently lagged behind its predecessors in sales, but Capcom is implementing strategies to enhance its appeal, including a price reduction, a demo, and the upcoming expansion. A Switch 2 port is also anticipated to bolster sales in December alongside recent quality-of-life updates.
