CD Projekt Red has launched a significant patch, version 5.01, for The Witcher 3 Remastered edition. This update introduces numerous lighting options for console players, including the option to disable Bloom effects. Further adjustments aim to enhance the overall gameplay experience across various platforms.

In addition to the new features, CD Projekt Red confirmed it is developing an update for the Switch 2 version of The Witcher 3 Remastered. This upcoming patch aims to achieve “closer parity between all versions of the game,” focusing on enhancing image “clarity and sharpness.” Additional details regarding the Switch 2 update will be shared in the coming days.

Among the notable fixes included in patch 5.01, which is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, are resolutions for dodging issues and several bugs that could cause Geralt’s stamina to drain suddenly during gameplay. Players will find that boats controlled by players should no longer move uncontrollably, ladder interactions have been refined, and the character Vesemir will no longer repeat himself when the Quen Sign is cast multiple times.

This update unfolds as anticipation builds for the forthcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, which is set to be released next year. This expansion will add a new region known as Letten and follow a storyline centered around Dandelion and his family. Dom, who previewed the expansion at Gamescom, praised the quality of CD Projekt Red’s writing, noting, “Songs of the Past has been a great reminder: CDPR’s writing is some of gaming’s very best.”
