Manchester United and Liverpool are actively pursuing new signings as the summer transfer window gains momentum. United is in the running for Racing Santander left back Jorge Salinas, while Liverpool appears poised to replace Curtis Jones with Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.
According to reports from TEAMtalk, Manchester United has set its sights on Salinas, a 19-year-old defender who has caught the eye since helping Racing Santander secure promotion to LaLiga. Salinas played a significant role in Spain’s victory at the recent European Under-19 Championship. United is contemplating activating his €16 million release clause, but must contend with interest from Atlético Madrid. Salinas is one of several left back options for the club, alongside Lewis Hall of Newcastle United and David Raum from RB Leipzig.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is preparing for the departure of Curtis Jones, who is expected to join Inter Milan for £30 million. Reports from The Daily Mirror suggest that Liverpool plans to sign Adam Wharton, a 22-year-old midfielder from Crystal Palace. Wharton has impressed since his £18 million transfer from Blackburn in February 2024 and is also on the radar of clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. The England international has a reported valuation of around £78 million and three years left on his contract.
