A significant traffic incident involving a passenger bus and a semi-truck has resulted in multiple injuries in Kentucky. The collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. on a stretch of Interstate 64 eastbound near the town of Frankfort.
According to local authorities, the bus, carrying approximately 40 passengers, was traveling from Virginia to New Jersey when it rear-ended a semi-truck. The impact caused the bus to overturn. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and at least 15 individuals were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials stated that the highway was closed for several hours as they conducted an investigation and cleared the wreckage. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and authorities are interviewing witnesses and reviewing traffic camera footage.
Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes while the situation is assessed and the highway is reopened.
