Ring Camera Captures Suspect at Arizona Residence
The disappearance began at Nancy Guthrie’s home near Tucson, Arizona, situated in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, where a doorbell camera recorded a figure wearing a ski mask. The apparent kidnapping involved a man who appeared to be armed with a holstered handgun, prompting a massive search and widespread news media coverage. Nancy Guthrie was initially reported missing after failing to arrive at a friend’s house as planned to watch a mass via livestream.
FBI Investigates Ransom Notes and Suspected Kidnapping
In the days following the incident, news outlets received multiple ransom notes demanding money, prompting an investigation by the F.B.I., which stated earlier this month that the case is a suspected kidnapping for ransom while noting some notes might be genuine and others fake. Savannah Guthrie has offered a $1 million reward for tips leading to her mother’s return, supplementing a $100,000 reward from the F.B.I.
