Forza Horizon 6 Release Date Potentially Delayed to January 2027
- Forza Horizon 6 on PlayStation 5 may be delayed to January 26, 2027.
- Developer Playground Games has disputed previous delay claims but is opening wishlisting on the PlayStation Store.
- Reliable leaker billbil-kun has speculated an officially confirmed release date and pre-order announcement this week.
The release of Forza Horizon 6 on PlayStation 5 appears to have been delayed to January 26, 2027, based on new reports. This follows earlier claims made by outlets like The Verge and IGN in late August suggesting a pushback.
In response, Playground Games, the studio behind Forza Horizon 6, publicly countered the delay claims shortly afterward, asserting that the game’s launch has not been postponed and launched wishlisting on the PlayStation Store.
Recently, well-known leaker billbil-kun from Dealabs has corroborated these rumors by providing a specific release date. They anticipate an official announcement regarding this date and the opening of pre-orders in the coming week.
According to billbil-kun, the game is expected to retail for £59.99 in the UK and €69.99 across Europe. A physical version with a disc will also be available in retail stores, although the existence of a Premium Edition for PS5 is unverified.
For other platforms like PC and Xbox, the Premium Edition typically includes an expansion pass along with a car pass and various in-game bonuses. Pre-purchasing the Premium Edition offers up to four days of early access. There is speculation regarding a potential digital-only Premium Edition for PS5.
Playground Games issued a statement on X, acknowledging the lack of communication about Forza Horizon 6 and promising to improve dialogue with players based on their feedback.
It remains a possibility that the decision to delay the game to January was made after previously stating it was on track for a 2026 release, although that announcement occurred only a month prior.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding its launch, Forza Horizon 6 is currently among the best-selling games of 2026 and is projected to be the top-grossing new title on Steam for the year. Eurogamer’s Dom Peppiatt praised the game, stating it embodies the pinnacle of the Horizon series’ spirit while not reinventing the gameplay experience.
