Kelli Giddish Reprises Role as Detective Amanda Rollins in Law & Order: SVU
Kelli Giddish is set to return as Detective Amanda Rollins in Law & Order: SVU after fan outcry followed her character’s exit in 2022. Giddish expressed her gratitude for the support from fans, stating, “I appreciated the protest. I really, really did. It really touched my heart to know that people were missing Rollins.”
Detective Rollins left the SVU team in the middle of season 24, marrying Dominick “Sonny” Carisi Jr. (Peter Scanavino) and transitioning into a teaching role at Fordham University. However, she has made a notable comeback in season 27, rejoining the squad as a regular member.
Giddish shared her excitement upon returning, stating, “The episodes have been so good this year already, and it’s just—it’s thrilling to be back already with the cast that I know and love, and the crew that I know and love.”
