Leslie Mann Discusses Past Parenting Challenges with Daughters Maude and Iris Apatow
Leslie Mann, the star of This Is 40, openly reflected on her experience with motherhood during an interview, emphasizing how her approach impacted her personal self-care during the early years of raising her daughters, Maude Apatow, 28, and Iris Apatow, 23, whom she shares with husband Judd Apatow.
Mann’s Insights on Motherhood and Self-Care
In an exclusive joint interview with her Spa Weekend costars Isla Fisher, Anna Faris, and Michelle Buteau, Mann revealed, “When my kids were little, I didn’t have self-care. I didn’t even know how to do it. I didn’t even think of myself, because I just didn’t—and that was a mistake. I think it’s important to at least sleep.”
Shifts in Priorities as Children Grow Older
Now at the age of 54, Mann has adjusted her focus, allowing more time for herself as her daughters have grown. She stated, “Now that my kids are older, I’m better with it. I have more time for myself. I don’t know how you do it when you’re a mom of young kids.”
Celebrating Her Daughters’ Achievements
Mann expressed pride in her daughters, noting, “But, also, I have a 28-year-old now and a 23-year-old, and they’re awesome,” highlighting the successful individuals they have become.
