GTA 6 Introduces On-Demand Podcasts and New Radio Stations
- GTA 6 allows players to listen to radio stations and podcasts using smartphones and headphones.
- The game features six unique radio stations hosted by well-known artists.
- GTA 6 is set to release on November 19, 2023.
Grand Theft Auto 6 promises players a unique listening experience, enabling them to enjoy radio stations and on-demand podcasts while on foot, using headphones and earbuds connected to smartphones. This feature allows players to engage with content, such as true crime stories, during their journey in the game.
According to Rockstar, “For the first time ever, Grand Theft Auto 6 introduces a series of on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia to experience beyond Leonida’s terrestrial radio… with both radio and podcasts available to listen to in vehicles and on foot through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones.”
Alongside these features, Rockstar detailed six new radio stations, hosted by prominent artists. As noted by Rolling Stone, the stations will provide a variety of music styles:
- Cocoteo FM: A Latin music channel hosted by Bad Bunny and RaiNao (in-game names El Martillo and La Gata).
- Back Country Radio: A country music channel hosted by Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen, and Jeremy Dufrene (in-game names MW and Delta Dawne).
- AfroBank FM: An African music channel hosted by Burna Boy and DJ Palms Trax (in-game names Burna and Palmsy).
- The Chamber 106.6: A metal music channel hosted by Kerry King and Tom Araya (in-game names DJ Kerry and DJ Tom).
- Flash FM: A pop music channel hosted by Robyn and Alex Consani (in-game names Robyn and Alex).
- Dirty South Classics: A rap and hip-hop channel hosted by Trina and Trick Daddy (in-game names Trina and Trick).
This extensive and high-cost musical lineup further emphasizes the scale at which GTA 6 has been produced. Following the recent extended reveal on Netflix, Christian Donlan remarked, “this is what a billion dollars gets you.”
The announcement aligns with a recent leak by CyberLeek, showcasing gameplay footage featuring nudity and dirt-biking. While legal actions from Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, had previously curtailed CyberLeek’s activities, the latest leak indicates they remain active.
GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2023, as Rockstar continues to address an employment tribunal case in Scotland concerning alleged union-busting activities.
