From Makjang Melodramas to Gacha Cultivation: The Winning Masterpieces
The grand prize was fiercely claimed by Pitkong’s At the Ending of a Makjang Drama, a wild modern fantasy and alternate-history crossover following a protagonist reincarnated into a melodrama who suddenly finds themselves thrust into an imperial succession race after a terrorist attack. Meanwhile, the Excellence Awards went to Sotamja’s The NIS’ Indestructible Black Agent, Youngwan’s The Trade King in This Life, and MammothXM’s I Obtained the Omnipotent Angel. Capitalizing on a booming genre that saw over 1,400 submissions—more than double last year—the contest also debuted a Martial Arts Special Award recognizing breakout works like Teruchi’s How a Ronin Survives the World of Martial Artists, Seogong’s Cultivating Through Gacha in a Xianxia World, and Apyeong-a’s A Fishing Village Boy Raised as a Martial Artist.
